It is that special time of year again when we are preparing for our Annual Excellence Awards Dinner to recognize healthcare professionals who have demonstrated excellence in the provision of hospice and palliative care in hospice, long-term care, and acute care settings. On behalf of the Delaware End-of-Life Coalition (DEOLC), I would like you to consider sponsoring our organization for this event. The spring dinner will be held at the Wild Quail Country Club on April 24, 2014. Additional information regarding the sponsorship is available on our website.
Sponsorship funds defray costs for the dinner and other additional events offered throughout the year. Programs hosted by DEOLC over the past year included the following:
(1) international Thanatology certificate program designed for those who sought to learn more about end-of-life for individuals and their families during their final hours,
(2) community forum by Senator Hall-Long on the recent Delaware medical marijuana law for palliative care, and
(3) training opportunities for veterans, hospices, and other healthcare facilities to include “Special Needs of Veterans at End-of-Life” and the “End-of- Life Nursing Education Consortium.”
As a result of these programs, the DEOLC raised the awareness of issues and choices related to end-of- life throughout the First State.
Your generous donation will allow us to continue in our pursuit to improve end-of-life care. Since we have a 501(C)(3) designation, your contribution is tax-deductible as allowable by law. I encourage you to send your contribution to DEOLC, P.O. Box 1682, Bear, DE 19701, Attn: Treasurer. Thank you for taking the time to understand the important role that DEOLC plays in the area of education and public policy. I hope to see you at the April 24, 2014 dinner event.
